Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump’s campaign told CNN on Wednesday the candidate is expecting an endorsement from a coalition of black pastors and evangelical leaders on Monday. Trump’s camp has yet to release the names of the religious leaders who are reportedly behind the endorsement. An event to announce the endorsement is scheduled for 1 p.m. and will reportedly take place after a meeting betwen Trump and leaders earlier in the day. The alleged endorsement comes after Trump’s series of racially charged controversies, including cheering on a crowd’s removal of a Black Lives Matter protester from an event in Alabama and tweeting a graphic that exaggerated the number of black-on-white homicides this year.
