Trump Backers Launch SECOND Effort to Recall Wisconsin Assembly Speaker
DO OVER
After a revenge-fueled campaign to recall the Speaker of the Wisconsin State Assembly failed earlier this month, supporters of former President Donald Trump are gearing up to take another shot. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that organizer Matthew Snorek filed the paperwork on Wednesday declaring his intention to circulate a second petition to recall Speaker Robin Vos, over his so-called “tacit support for the Chinese Communist Party.” Vos has been critical of former President Trump, and drew the ire of MAGA conservatives after he refused to undo the results of the 2020 presidential election. Snorek also described Vos’ “flagrant disrespect for his own constituents,” after he called those seeking to recall him from his post “whack jobs” and “morons.” Earlier this month, organizers gathered 10,000 signatures to remove Vos, but fell short in the district where he was elected. The recall committee tasked with evaluating the petition claimed some signatures were forged, or from “individuals from outside Wisconsin.” Vos claimed that thousands of the petitions’ signatures were from people outside of his district.
