A federal immigration agent shot and wounded a man in Austin, Texas, early Sunday afternoon, stoking outrage in the community.

The man, who has not yet been identified, was transported to a hospital and was in serious but stable condition, according to The New York Times.

Democratic Texas Rep. Greg Casar announced on Instagram that he is “demanding a full, independent investigation, immediate release of the body camera footage, and accountability for any ICE officer who broke the law.”

She then says, “Goddammit, I am so f---king sick of them.” Despite growing up in Kyiv, the singer is a supporter of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his war on Ukraine. In 2017 she was banned from entering Ukraine over a 2015 performance she gave in Russian-annexed Crimea, and in 2023 Ukraine issued sanctions against her over her support for Russia’s invasion of the country. The video, which is circulating on social media, has drawn widespread criticism from Russia’s critics.

Newly released internal EPA documents show that Bayer was offered a choice from a menu of regulation options for their twice-banned weedkiller dicamba.

Vladimir Putin’s war has come roaring back to his doorstep as Ukraine hammered Moscow with its largest-ever drone barrage.

Russia’s Defense Ministry said Sunday that its forces shot down more than 1,900 drones, along with eight guided aerial bombs, eight cruise missiles, and four rockets, overnight—a staggering tally that would mark Ukraine’s largest attack on record, according to CNN.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin called the attack “unprecedented,” saying air defenses intercepted 450 drones on their way toward the capital Saturday night, the Financial Times reports.

Salazar, 64, appeared on Face the Nation Sunday and was asked to name names by host Margaret Brennan.

A 93-year-old driver killed a 56-year-old woman and injured seven others when she drove her SUV into a brunch restaurant’s patio on the Jersey Shore on Saturday, authorities said. The driver was trying to park her 2014 Buick Encore but hit the gas instead of the brakes around 11 a.m. and plowed into Meg’s Grill in Lavallette, authorities said. Seven restaurant patrons were taken to the hospital, and a woman from Toms River was killed in the crash, police said. The driver, who is from Lavallette, suffered minor injuries. Police have not released the identities of the victims or driver. In a statement, Meg’s Grill wrote: “Our building is fine and was undamaged. But I can’t say the same for our hearts. All of our thoughts and prayers are with the people who were hurt.”

Ex-Kennedy Center boss Richard Grenell secretly tried to dump valuable gifts from the performing arts center to replace them with MAGA-approved art.

Grenell, the former head of the Kennedy Center who Trump fired in March, wanted to replace the center’s art collection, which includes gifts from foreign nations to honor Kennedy, with art hand-picked by Trump patrons, The New York Times reported.

Late last year during Grenell’s tenure, a proposal was circulated by Kennedy Center officials, the first page of which included details about a “de-accession” of artwork that “may include disposal via the following means: return to country of origin, transfer or exchange with another institution, public sale or destruction.”

Things got ugly between NASCAR stars Carson Hocevar, 23, and Ryan Blaney, 32, after a Saturday night race at Bristol Motor Speedway. The athletes’ cars made contact while they competed for second place, with 41 laps remaining. Hocevar’s move sent Blaney’s No. 12 Ford spinning into the inside wall. After Hocevar finished third, he was met with a shove from Blaney. Hocevar, who stands 6-foot-4, punched Blaney twice, knocking off his hand and landing one on his left cheek. Blaney fell to the ground but quickly recovered, punching Hocevar back before team members separated them. “There wasn’t a whole lot of talking,” Hocevar said. “He just kind of said one thing and then went after me, and I wasn’t going to take it. The president said in an early-morning Truth Social post that the arch will actually now be some sort of military complex.

“At the strong request of the United States Military, and for National Security purposes, I have agreed to convert the magnificent Triumphal Arch, planned since the Civil War Era many years ago, at the Receptive Circle adjoining the Arlington Memorial Bridge, into a top grade Military Complex/Triumphal Arch, to house, store, and have the rapid ability to use large numbers of drones, plus Snipers, on both the roof and plaza areas, and additionally have and hold large quantities of sniper ammunition in storage,” Trump posted.

Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. received more than $250,000 worth of free flights to Fiji and Greece from a longtime security adviser and donor.

A financial ethics disclosure cited by The Wall Street Journal revealed that the gifts, from Gavin de Becker, included a nearly $45,000 round-trip airfare to Greece and almost $97,000 in flights to Fiji, where de Becker owns a sprawling private retreat and compound. De Becker also provided Kennedy with access to a vacation home in Washington, D.C., The Journal reported.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services did not immediately respond to a request for comment. A spokesperson for Kennedy told the Journal he worked with ethics officials on his disclosures and complies with all federal ethics regulations.

A prop-comedy legend attempted to take his own life Friday, a new report claims.

Carrot Top, whose real name is Scott Thompson, made the attempt in the Las Vegas area and was rushed to the hospital, TMZ reported.

“Mr. Thompson is recovering in the hospital and is receiving the care and support he needs. His family and those closest to him are deeply grateful for the concern, prayers, and respectfully ask for privacy,” his representative, Jami Schlicher, said in a statement.

Not because I think we’re “bad,” but because every Goliath needs to encounter a David now and again. Better if, unlike Goliath, we survive our encounter, but no nation ought to have the outsized impact on the globe as our own. And certainly no nation that has proven itself incapable of behaving responsibly. So much power concentrated in the hands of so few is, frankly, un-American.

The family continued to have Sunday brunch together, and sometimes the mood would get heated. Then it was talk, and “fist bump and then we went back to brunch.” Their divorce was finalized in 2016, and Paltrow married TV writer and director Brad Falchuk two years later.

Donald Trump is celebrating a Greenland security deal as a “dream come true”—even though it stops short of the thing he has spent months demanding: control of Greenland.

Trump crowed on Truth Social Friday that the proposed arrangement with Denmark and Greenland addresses “ALL” of the United States’ concerns about the strategic Arctic territory.

Denmark and Greenland had a different take on the proposed agreement, which involves an update to a 1951 treaty between the U.S. and Denmark that already allowed the U.S. to maintain a military presence and expand its activities in Greenland.

Two men were forced to cling to a tree above a Florida river after their boat capsized and floated away. The men were stranded in the Hillsborough River northeast of Tampa on Tuesday, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. The area is home to alligators, turtles, water snakes, frogs, and wading birds. Footage released by the sheriff’s office shows the two men on a tree limb that extended over the river waiting to be rescued. The sheriff’s office did not say whether or not the stranded pair came into contact with any alligators or other water-dwelling species during their ordeal. It is unknown what caused their boat to capsize or how long the men spent stranded. Authorities were called to the river at around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday and it took them some time to locate the men, who were roughly 3,000 feet downstream of the boat ramp. Sheriff’s deputies and an officer with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission worked together to rescue the pair. Neither man was injured, but their boat wasn’t so lucky. “The capsized boat was not located,” the sheriff’s office said.

A top DOJ official has allegedly given federal prosecutors an ultimatum: pursue election fraud cases brought forward, or get the boot.

Aakash Singh, the deputy attorney general’s top lieutenant, said in a call that prosecutors risk being fired if they do not pursue possible election fraud cases brought to them by federal law enforcement, sources familiar with his remarks told MS NOW.

That report has set off alarm bells among legal experts, who warn that such a policy is dangerous for the public, removing a critical layer of oversight—that of the prosecutor—from determining whether there is substantial evidence to charge someone with a crime.

Michael Sweetney, a former NBA first-round draft pick, has died at just 43 years old, his family has confirmed. Sweetney played for the New York Knicks and the Chicago Bulls after a standout college career with the Georgetown Hoyas. He died on Wednesday at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. No cause of death was given. In an Instagram post, his wife, India, announced the news. “With the heaviest hearts, we are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Michael,” she wrote. “To know @mikesweetney was love to him. No one loved him more and he loved no one more than his family. His children were the light of his life, and he lived every day to give them the best life possible.” After leaving the NBA, Sweetney went on to play in Puerto Rico, Venezuela and Uruguay before transitioning to coaching in 2019. He worked as an assistant coach at Yeshiva University. “The world lost a giant today,” Yeshiva’s head coach Elliot Steinmetz said in a post on X. “I lost a close friend. The Pentagon released its sixth batch of government files on unidentified anomalous phenomena, or UFOs, on Friday in a move critics labeled a distraction. The document drop includes grainy videos of lights in the sky, scanned contracts, and declassified papers from Project Blue Book, an Air Force investigation program that ran from 1952 to 1969. In February, President Donald Trump ordered the release of government files related to extraterrestrial life and unidentified anomalous phenomena, calling them “highly complex, but extremely interesting and important, matters” in a Truth Social post. Since May, the Defense Department has intermittently shared new materials on a rolling basis. The latest files, many of which come from a secretive military initiative called the Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program, deal with topics straight out of science fiction, from warp drives to wormholes to invisibility cloaking. Two pilots have been accused of flying drunk and crashing a brand-new private plane while touching down at Libya’s Misrata International Airport this week. The jet veered off the runway and crashed, leaving a trail of smoke and debris, according to Arab News. The aircraft burst into flames on the runway. Only three people were on board, including the two pilots and a flight attendant, and no injuries were reported. The Cessna Citation Latitude, built this year, had been flying from Istanbul’s Atatürk Airport to pick up “VIP passengers” in Misrata, according to the New York Post. The two pilots were arrested after investigators discovered “evidence” that they had “flown the aircraft while drunk,” although the plane’s operator, a Turkish company called BKNJET Aviation Co., contested the allegation.

More U.S. service members have died in the Middle East during President Donald Trump’s war with Iran than the administration has disclosed publicly, a bombshell new report has revealed.

Six Defense Department insiders familiar with the agency’s internal casualty accounting data told The Washington Post that there have been at least 22 military fatalities—four more than the 18 reported by the Pentagon on its Defense Casualty Analysis System.

One official pegged the death toll at 23 since the U.S. and Israel launched the war on Iran in February. This source said not all undisclosed deaths were directly linked to the Middle East conflict but included U.S. personnel who were in the region amid the hostilities.

While Mitch McConnell has not spoken on camera since returning to the Senate this week, GOP Sen. Thom Tillis said the pair spoke, and he called it “classic Mitch.”

McConnell returned to Capitol Hill on Monday after being absent for 92 days, and aides pushed him in a wheelchair as he looked frail.

National Football League Hall of Famer cornerback Deion Sanders has received new toes four years after undergoing amputation.

The Colorado Buffaloes head coach, 59, had surgery in September 2021 for a dislocated toe and an inflamed nerve. During his recovery, Sanders’s big toe and second toe of his left foot turned black, and doctors discovered three life-threatening blood clots. He had the two toes amputated in 2022.

On Sept. 16, one of his five children, Deion Sanders Jr., posted a video of Sanders receiving two new toes on X.

An airline’s former CEO has been accused of breaking company policy and causing a mid-air explosion, according to local media citing sources. Camiel Eurlings was reportedly on board a KLM flight from Amsterdam Schiphol in the Netherlands to Curaçao International Airport in the Caribbean when the jet was forced to turn around over the Atlantic and head back to Europe on Thursday night. Sources told Dutch outlets RTL and NU.NL that the fire started when a passenger, allegedly Eurlings, charged a power bank and fell asleep. KLM forbids passengers from using or charging power banks on board its flights. Two sources said that passengers aboard the Boeing 777-300ER heard a loud crash and the power bank exploded. “Suddenly a bang was heard,” a source told RTL. “After that, there was an immediate fire; large flames were coming out above the seat. The bang was the power bank exploding and immediately catching fire.” Passengers praised the crew’s handling of the incident, with one source saying, “A fire broke out, but it was extinguished immediately.” KLM has not confirmed that it was Eurlings’ power bank or whether he was involved, saying in a statement, “That is privacy-sensitive information.” Its spokesperson added that one man “sustained burns.” Eurlings was CEO from 2013 to 2014. A judge has ordered the DOJ to cough up notes from interviews between the FBI and a woman who alleged Donald Trump forced her to give him oral sex when she was 13.

U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan, a Reagan appointee in Washington, ordered the DOJ to hand over all handwritten notes from its four 2019 interviews with Trump’s accuser, who alleges she was trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein to meet Trump in 1984.

President Donald Trump has been forced to admit he doesn’t fully own one of his golf courses to avoid paying legal fees.

The 80-year-old president is involved in a long-running battle with Orbis Business Intelligence, a consultancy founded by Christopher Steele, a former British spy who was behind a salacious but largely debunked dossier that claimed Trump was compromised by Russia for allegedly taking part in “golden showers” with prostitutes in Moscow.

Trump sued Orbis Business Intelligence for damages in 2023, claiming the dossier, published by BuzzFeed in January 2017, breached his data protection rights. London’s High Court of Justice threw out the case in 2024 because Trump did not bring it within the six-year limitation period required for such data cases under U.K. law.

A Volaris Airlines flight bound for Mexico turned back to Las Vegas after its crew reported a possible engine fire mid-flight, according to airport officials and the Federal Aviation Administration. A popular sour candy sold at major retailers has been recalled. The Ricky Joy Company issued the warning for its Ricky Joy Sour Crush Rolling Liquid Candy Bottles. Walmart, Forman Mills, H-E-B, and CandyFunHouse.com have pulled 2.3 million bottles from shelves. The company said a batch of the candy’s famous rotating ball could detach, “posing a risk of serious injury or death from [the] choking hazard,” the Consumer Product Safety Commission said. The company has sold the bottles nationwide since January 2023, but no injuries have been reported. Consumers who bought them are now told to stop using them immediately and contact the Ricky Joy Company for a refund. This development comes after the FDA recalled two chocolate bars, saying they contained prescription drugs called sildenafil and tadalafil found in erectile dysfunction medications like Viagra and Cialis. Juniper Granola also faced a recall in January for candy bars containing undeclared milk and soy, which poses a significant threat to people with allergies. After a staffing and leadership overhaul, the FDA and USDA have issued 162 food recalls in 2026 alone.

It is more than a bit ironic that the new show Adults follows Gen Z-ers trying to grow up, while HBO’s new series Youth centers on Gen X-ers doing whatever they can to stay young.

Youth, premiering on HBO on Sept. 20, displays the full spectrum of adulthood. The 50-year-old protagonist, Alex, is played by the prolific Sharon Horgan (Bad Sisters), who also created, wrote, and executive produced the show.

She has aging parents with health issues, a son (Aran Murphy) who just graduated high school, and a series of past and present romantic entanglements who fill in a spectrum of manly immaturity.

Top Republicans have poured cold water on Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s push to install one of his loyalists in a key Pentagon role.

Hegseth, 46, is desperate to appoint the department’s chief spokesperson, Sean Parnell, 45, as Army Secretary despite the backlash Parnell has faced over censorship of the Pentagon press corps and allegations of domestic violence.

The post opened up after Dan Driscoll, 40, resigned at the end of August after months of tensions with Hegseth over the Defense Secretary’s repeated purges of top brass perceived as disloyal to the MAGA cause.

Pop musician Duncan Sheik died at age 56. The artist and Tony Award-winning composer of Spring Awakening died of cardiac arrest in Manhattan on September 17.

His mother, Suzanne Sheik, confirmed Sheik’s death, noting the cause as cardiac arrest.

He was hospitalized earlier this week, allegedly in “critical but stable condition,” according to a statement from his representatives posted on social media.

The president, 80, secured his second term partly off the back of a campaign pledge to end messy foreign entanglements.

A swimmer has died after being mauled by a shark, leaving nothing but a “pool of blood.” Beachgoers in Perth, Western Australia, were left shocked after a man was attacked around 50 feet from the shore while in the water with his friend on Friday. A helicopter was scrambled to the northern suburb of Sorrento Beach as part of a frantic search. The victim’s body was not found, with police saying they were confident the “swimmer died as a result of the attack.” “I couldn’t believe there was that much blood (that had) come out of a human body,” passerby Ryan Rowe told newspaper The Western Australian. Speaking to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, beachgoer Jacqui Rapaic said, “My friend said, ‘Jac, I think there’s been a shark attack,’ and I looked out to the ocean, and I could see a pool of blood.” Witness Darrel told 9News, “I feel for his mate. He’s apologizing. He said, ‘I couldn’t save my mate’. I said, ‘You couldn’t have done anything.’” The network reports that an order to destroy the shark has been issued. A five-foot great white was subsequently spotted, but it is not clear whether it was the fish in question. Authorities plan to work through the weekend to catch and kill it.

Christi Fraga was forced to do damage control after business owners in the city of Doral complained to CBS News Miami that masked ICE goons roaming the streets are severely hurting their sales.

The owner of a burger restaurant in the South Florida city–where Trump has a hotel and golf resort located around 80 miles from his Mar-a-Lago home—said customers are becoming too scared to come out because ICE agents carrying out the president’s immigration policies are detaining people.

Anderson and Milla Jovovich’s wholly separate six-entry series—Cregger’s latest (Sept. 18, in theaters) is less formally adventurous than his prior behind-the-camera efforts, opting for a pedal-to-the-metal dash into a heart of malevolent darkness. As hilarious as it is unnerving, it’s the rare video game-based film to rock from breakneck start to insane finish.

While major tech leaders are sounding the alarm on AI, the 80-year-old president has called their concerns “a hoax” and insisted that his administration will continue its current approach to the technology.

“So researchers at Anthropic—one of them said he believes there was more than a 10 percent chance AI could end all human life,” began Kimmel on Thursday night. “But don’t worry, because President Trump has assured us that this threat to our existence is nothing more than a hoax.”

In a conversation with Apple Music, Cyrus shared that her last words with the late country legend were about the former’s tenth studio album, released on Friday.
