Carrie Fisher’s Star Wars co-stars reacted on Tuesday to her death at the age of 60. Mark Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker, remembered Fisher on Twitter, writing, “no words #Devastated,” accompanied by a photograph of him and Fisher embracing in costume on the Star Wars set. Billy Dee Williams, who portrayed Lando Calrissian in Episodes V and VI, wrote on Twitter: “I’m deeply saddened at the news of Carrie”s passing. She was a dear friend, whom I greatly respected and admired. The force is dark today!” Harrison Ford released a statement: “Carrie was one-of-a-kind… brilliant, original. Funny and emotionally fearless. She lived her life, bravely…My thoughts are with her daughter Billie, her mother Debbie, her brother Todd, and her many friends. We will all miss her.” Peter Mayhew, who played Chewbacca, posted several off-set pictures of himself with Fisher, writing, “There are no words for this loss. Carrie was the brightest light in every room she entered. I will miss her dearly.” Anthony Daniels, who portrayed C-3PO, said: “I thought I had got what I wanted under the tree. I didn’t. In spite of so many thoughts and prayers from so many. I am very, very sad.” Star Wars: The Force Awakens producer Kathleen Kennedy released a statement, saying, “She was Princess Leia to the world but a special friend to all of us. We will miss her dearly.” Warwick Davis, who portrayed Wicket the Ewok in Return of the Jedi, tweeted, “Princess Leia, @carriefisher - now one with the Force. Your kindness & sharp wit will be missed. #RIP PS: Thanks for the milk & cookies.” Fisher suffered a heart attack last week and reportedly never regained consciousness before passing away on Tuesday. Series creator George Lucas released a statement saluting Fisher as “our great and powerful princess—feisty, wise and full of hope.”
