Multiplatinum rapper and Grammy winner Missy Elliott is reportedly making a guest appearance during Katy Perry’s performance at the Super Bowl on Sunday, the Associated Press reported Thursday, citing a person familiar with the halftime show. The person told the AP on condition of anonymity since the NFL had not announced Elliott’s plans. Perry hinted at the surprise appearance by Elliott, who was featured on a remix of her song “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” in 2011, during a news conference Thursday. “When you hear the first ring of the chord,” Perry said, “I think jaws will drop and faces will melt.” Previous unannounced halftime acts include appearances by Usher and former Guns ’N Roses guitarist Slash in 2011.
