A Knoxville man is accused of causing $30,000 worth of damage to a graveyard digging up his ancestor.

A man in Knoxville allegedly dug up portions of a local church’s cemetery and broke headstones in an attempt to bring his grandmother back to life Monday, police say. Danny Frazier, whom witnesses said had been sleeping near the church in recent nights, told police he was trying to “resurrect” his ancestor. He’s charged with vandalism and criminal trespassing for the nearly $30,000 in damage inflicted on the graveyard.
