Three New York police commanders were arrested early Monday on federal corruption charges, The New York Times reports. The charges were reportedly rooted in investigations about Mayor Bill de Blasio’s campaign fundraising. A deputy chief, deputy inspector, and a sergeant were among those arrested. It’s one of the most notable roundups of supervisors in the history of the NYPD. Court documents reportedly show expensive gifts two police authorities allegedly received in exchange for doing official duties. Those gifts include a trip on a private jet to Las Vegas, a prostitute, expensive meals, and free international trips. Those gifts were for the most part provided by two specific businessmen who are also de Blasio supporters. Brooklynite Jeremiah Reichberg, 42, was charged with the officers, documents said. The other man, Jona S. Rechnitz, 33, recently pleaded guilty to corruption charges.
