ABC News suspended its chief investigative correspondent without pay on Saturday, one day after the network reported that candidate Donald Trumpârather than President-elect Trumpâhad told Michael Flynn to contact the Russian government. âWe deeply regret and apologize for the serious error we made yesterday,â the statement read, explaining that Rossâ reporting âhad not been fully vetted through our editorial standards process.â Ross, the statement concluded, âwill be suspended for four weeks without pay.â
