Alabama's Sen. Jeff Sessions became Donald Trump's first senate endorsement during a rally on Sunday. Sessions, one of the Senate's leading anti-immigration figures, gives Trump a big boost before Super Tuesday when Alabama and 10 other states cast their ballots in the primary elections. The Alabama senator's support is considered a blow to Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, who has claimed during GOP debates that he helped Sessions take a stand on immigration reform. Govs. Chris Christie of New Jersey and Paul LePage of Maine backed Trump on Friday while Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer announced her support on Saturday.
