Ann Curry: I’m Not Surprised by Matt Lauer Allegations

Ann Curry appeared on CBS This Morning on Wednesday to address the sexual-misconduct allegations about her former co-worker Matt Lauer. “I can tell you that I am not surprised by the allegations,” said Curry. When asked to elaborate, she said she felt like she was “walking a line” in discussing the culture at NBC, adding, “I know what it’s like to be publicly humiliated, and I don’t want to cause that pain to somebody else.” Curry continued, “I can say that I would be surprised if many women did not understand that there was a climate of verbal harassment that existed... it was verbal sexual harassment.” Asked if it was pervasive, Curry replied: “It was. Yes. Period.”
