Laurent Gras is the executive chef at L2O, a modern seafood restaurant in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood that has been making waves since opening in May 2008. Lauded for its elegant cuisine and serene atmosphere, L2O has received four-star reviews from The Chicago Tribune and the Chicago Sun-Times, and was named Esquire magazine’s Restaurant of the Year 2008. In 2009, L2O was nominated for Best New Restaurant by the James Beard Foundation.

The lavish, multicourse meals at the heart of Kyoto’s Kaiseki cuisine are worth the flight to this foreign land.

Kyoto, Japan, is one of my favorite places for the refinement of the food and the ambiance of the city. Kaiseki meals are a unique experience and have opened my eyes to a completely new way of dining that is art. It is pure Zen; the ultimate experience.
