Boobquake Founder Jen McCreight Speaks Out

After Iranian cleric Hojatoleslam Kazem Sedighi said that “[m]any women who do not dress modestly lead young men astray, corrupt their chastity and spread adultery in society, which increases earthquakes,” Purdue University student Jen McCreight took to her blog and to Facebook with a modest proposal: “Sedighi claims that not dressing modestly causes earthquakes. If so, we should be able to test this claim scientifically…Time for a Boobquake.” Here, she talks about what inspired her to start the liveliest protest since the Boston Tea Party.

Protesters in West Lafayette, Indiana, the epicenter of the Boobquake, weren’t afraid to risk a little seismic payback at their rally.

Seismologist: Cleavage Doesn’t Cause Quakes

D.C.’s local Fox affiliate went down to Dupont Circle, home of one of the Boobquake 2010 rallies, where reporters found a seismologist to state the obvious: Boobs don’t cause earthquakes.
