* The morning kicks off with a frank discussion about the horrific impact of acid violence, which disproportionately affects women—and how to forge new laws to prevent attacks. With Good Morning America’s Juju Chang guiding the conversation, hear from a survivor, and a surgeon who's helped to give victims new hope. Update: ABC News' Cynthia McFadden filled in for Chang.
* Later in the a.m., actress/activist Ashley Judd will introduce what promises to be a powerful segment about sex trafficking here in the U.S., which counts up to 300,000 children among its victims. The panel will be moderated by TV personality and judge Hon. Jeanine Pirro.
* Kicking the afternoon into high gear, former U.S. Secretaries of State Condoleezza Rice and Madeleine Albright will tackle the importance and challenges of directing U.S. policy to support women worldwide, in an interview with acclaimed 60 Minutes correspondent Lesley Stahl.* Next, broadcast staple Charlie Rose will lead a panel on the changing goals, attitudes and behaviors of women in China, the world's fastest growing economy—featuring Amy Chua, Yale law professor and author of the buzzed-about parenting book Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother.* And hear from Morning Joe’s Mika Brzezinski, Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, and our own Tina Brown on how we can better help women in their path to leadership—and how more women can rise above middle management.
* Along the way, a trailblazing health-care provider who's bringing modern medicine to remote areas of Africa will share her story, and women journalists on the front lines will tell theirs. We'll hear from fashion designers from developing regions who beat the odds to start successful businesses (with the help of icon Diane von Furstenberg, who'll host The DVF Awards to recognize and support women leaders Friday night).
