It’s been several months since we have seen William and Kate out together, so excitement is building among Royal watchers ahead of their appearance tonight at a premiere of the film African Cats, a documentary which tells the story of a family of cheetahs and a pride of lions.
Tonight’s event comes just days before the couple’s first wedding anniversary, which falls on Sunday.
William and Kate will be guests of honour at the London screening of the movie this evening at the British Film Institute on London’s Southbank. The film aims to raise awareness and funds for Tusk Trust, a UK-based conservation charity, of which Prince William is patron.
Prince William will address the audience in a short speech following the screening.
William and Kate have two further engagements tomorrow.
First they are due to attend a reception at Goldsmiths’ Hall to celebrate two Army teams who recreated the famous race to the South Pole by adventurers Scott and Amundsen.
Later on Thursday they will be at the Imperial War Museum to launch a fund-raising campaign to create new galleries displaying exhibits on the First World War in time for the centenary of the outbreak of the conflict in 1914.
After their public duties are over, the young Royals are expected to hightail it to the Queen’s private estate in Scotland, Balmoral, where they will be celebrating their first wedding anniversary on Sunday April 29.
Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, told the Daily Telegraph, “They are both big romantics and like to return to the places that mean a lot to them. I think William will have in mind a romantic night in one of the estate’s more isolated cottages—that is the way they seem to like to spend their special moments.”
