Kate Puts The Boot In

Duchess of Wellington

Kate's $500 Wellington Boots

Kate Middleton went from an into-the-woods camping trip for inner-city children to a country polo match in Which william was playing yesterday - all the while wearing a pair of covetable $500 Wellington boots by French bookmaker Le Chameau.

The leather-lined wellies are part of a new fad for 'super-wellies' among the British hunting, shooting and fishing set.

The duchess spent the morning visiting an ‘Expanding Horizons’ primary school scheme at the Widehorizons Margaret McMillan House in Wrotham, Kent.

The scheme is co-ordinated by ARK Schools, which gives children from inner-city backgrounds the opportunity to venture into the countryside to develop their confidence and teamwork skills.

The charitable Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry is a patron of ARK and last year William and Kate attended a glitzy fundraising gala in London, their first engagement as a married couple.

Zahid Shanvere, eight, made Kate laugh as he held open the tent flap for her and said: "After you.""What a gentleman," she said.

After the camping look-around, Kate was then conveyed by helicopter to a polo match her husband was playing in to support his Tusk Trust conservation charity.

Wearing the same pair of Le Chameau boots and Zara jeans, Kate joined other royals who turned out for the event including Zara Phillips and her husband Mike Tindall.

The match took place on the final day of the Gloucestershire Festival of Polo, at the Beaufort Polo Club.
