Outspoken fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld has once again ruffled feathers by declaring that he does not like Pippa Middleton's "face", and that Kate's sister should “only show her back”, as she “struggles” with her looks.

The remarks made by white-haired 'Kaiser Karl', who issued an apology to singer Adele earlier this year after saying that she had a 'divine voice' but was “too fat”, were reported in the Sun newspaper, but it did not say when the remarks were made or in what context.
Lagerfeld, 78, creative director of Chanel, is reported to have said: “Kate Middleton has a nice silhouette and she is the right girl for that boy. I like that kind of woman, I like romantic beauties. On the other hand, her sister struggles.
"I don't like the sister's face. She should only show her back."
Lagerfeld also, according to the Sun, praised former Spice Girl and fashion designer Victoria Beckham for her slim figure, saying they had the “same eating habits”.
"She is great. I like her a lot. I have known her for many years,” he said."And that body, after four children. There are not so many who have a body like that. She is very disciplined.”
This seems like a good opportunity to review some of the Kaiser's other legendary comments over the years:On Ines de la Fressange, his ex-muse: "I wish her all the luck in the world, just so long as I don’t have to see her anymore or hear her spoken about."In 1984, his thoughts on Yves Saint Laurent: "He is very middle-of-the-road French-very pied-noir, very provincial"In 1978 on his early start as a style icon: "When I was four I asked my mother for a valet for my birthday."In 2006 on music and technology: "The iPod is genius. I have 300"In 2009 on Heidi Klum: "I don't know Heidi Klum. She was never known in France. Claudia Schiffer also doesn't know who she is."In 2003 on unattractive and short people: "Life is not a beauty contest, some [ugly people] are great. What I hate is nasty, ugly people... the worst is ugly, short men. Women can be short, but for men it is impossible. It is something that they will not forgive in life... they are mean and they want to kill you."In 2010 on crime: "Frustration is the mother of crime, and so there would be much more crime without prostitutes and without porn movies."In 2010 on Andy Warhol: "I shouldn't say this, but physically he was quite repulsive."
