After the no-gay policy was reaffirmed, and the BSA went at war with Pack 422 over a non-discrimination statement on their chapterâs website, it looked as if the Boy Scouts of America were finally going to end the ban. The Boy Scouts said in a statement e-mailed to reporters that it had received âan outpouring of feedback from the American publicâ over the proposed change.
âIt reinforces how deeply people care about scouting and how passionate they are about the organization,â the statement said. âAfter careful consideration and extensive dialogue within the scouting family, along with comments from those outside the organization, the volunteer officers of the Boy Scouts of Americaâs National Executive Board concluded that due to the complexity of this issue, the organization needs time for a more deliberate review.â
