Cambodia Shoe Factory Collapse: On the heels of a factory tragedy in Bangladesh, another country has suffered a hazardous clothing manufacturing-related accident. A collapsed ceiling in a shoe factory in Cambodia on Thursday took the lives of three people and injured six. The collapse was reportedly a mezzanine floor that had been added between two buildings in order to enlarge the factory space. [Wall Street Journal]
Christine Quinn Nearly Copied a Kardashian: In her new memoir, With Patience and Fortitude, mayoral candidate Christine Quinn reveals that she almost purchased the same wedding dress as Khloe Kardashian for her 2012 wedding to partner Kim M. Catullo. “The first place we went to was Vera Wang, where I found a dress that I loved,” Quinn wrote. “That night, when I Googled the dress to show Kim, I found out that Khloe Kardashian had been married in that very same dress, so there was no way I could wear it. Simon Doonan’s Duane Reade Windows: Much revered for his over-the-top window displays at Barneys New York, Simon Doonan, the luxury department store’s creative ambassador-at-large, is now designing a window installation for Duane Reade. Doonan was approached by hair care company Nexxus, a sponsor of the Tony Awards, to create a display for the pharmacy closest to Radio City Music Hall, the venue for the awards show. The display is composed of over 3,200 bottles of hair products and will be unveiled on Thursday. [The New York Times]
