Eric Wilson Named InStyle's Fashion News Director: Eric Wilson, who has served as a fashion reporter for The New York Times for the past seven years, will become the fashion news director at InStyle Magazine, a newly created position. Wilson's new position at InStyle is much different than his current Times role: he will be responsible for "writing, editing and 'creating multimedia content,' as well as "overseeing designer and industry features in print and online." Wilson told WWD he wants to create "a voice for the news coverage of InStyle" and wants to continue to find ways to explain why fashion is important to readers. âWhen I talked to [InStyle editor-in-chief Ariel Foxman] about this, what he had in mind for the position and what I had in mind for my career were the same.â Wilson will begin his new role on November 18. Christopher Bailey Replaces Angela Ahrendts as Burberry CEO: Angela Ahrendts, the current CEO of Burberry, will leave the British fashiotn brand to join Apple as its new SVP for retail and online stores. Burberry's current chief creative executive, Christopher Bailey, will fill her spot as CEO. As Apple expands its stores, it hopes to utilize Ahrendts's luxury retail experience to boost sales. "I am profoundly moved and humbled to be asked to take on the CEO role at this company that means so much to me," Bailey said. "I also feel privileged to be keeping my role as chief creative officer, as I believe that creativity and innovation have been at the heart of our success in the last 10 years and will be even more so in the decade ahead." Elizabeth Taylor's Jewelry Goes on Display in San Francisco: The Bulgari jewelry once worn by the late Elizabeth Taylor will go on display at the de Young Fine Arts Museum in San Francisco as part of its La Dolce Vita and Beyond retrospective. The collection includes over $10 million worth of diamonds, sapphires, and emeralds worn by Taylor. Most notably is the Bulgari collar, part of Taylor's "Emerald Suite" collection, which sold for $6.5 million in 2011. The exhibit runs through February 17, 2014. [Daily Mail]
Christian Louboutin Granted Injunction Against Anti-Islam Group: An Antwerp court granted an injunction against the anti-Islam group Women Against Islamitization for its use of a pair of Christian Louboutin pumps in its posters, without the label's consent.
