It was announced last year that the Queen would no longer be making long-haul voyages, so little surprise that Prince Charles will be representing his mother at the funeral of Nelson Mandela next Sunday.A Buckingham Palace spokesperson confirmed the Prince of Wales will join world leaders for the state funeral in Mandela's home village of Qunu on December 15.
Charles and Prince Harry visited the country in 1997 and met Mr Mandela at his Pretoria home.
It was also announced today that three former British Primes Ministers - Gordon Brown, John Major and Tony Blair - will attend the funeral along with current British PM David Cameron.
No word if they will all be taking the same plane.
