Russia Bans Lace Panties: Say goodbye to lacy undergarments in Russia, Kazakhstan, and Belarus! A new ban introduced by the Customs Union between the three countries in 2010 prohibiting lace underwear will officially go into effect on July 1. The new law requires that the underwear meets a six percent threshold for absorption—lace panties only hitting between three and four percent. In Kazakhstan in particular, the ban has sparked outrage—thirty women were arrested Sunday while wearing lace underwear on their heads and chanting "Freedom to Panties." The economy may also see a downfall, as "underwear sales are at $4 billion dollars annually in Russia," and it is predicted that ninety percent of panties will be removed from store shelves. Kardashians Launch Kids' Clothing Line: The next step in Kardashian world domination? Childrenswear. The label, entitled Kardashian Kids, is set to hit Babies 'R' Us shelves and online March 15. “We started this idea when Kourtney was pregnant with Penelope,” Kim Kardashian said of her older sister. “It was mainly Kourtney who was the inspiration, but as I got pregnant, I started to chime in. Until you have your own child, you don’t realize how important it is for fabrics to be extra soft and accessible.” The 30-piece collection is for on-trend tots, with details including lace, gilded embroidery, and peplums. Prices are also accessible, ranging from $14.99 - $29.99. [WWD]
