Condé Nast Settles Unpaid Internship Suit: A settlement has finally been reached in the widely publicized “unpaid intern” lawsuit between international publishing house Condé Nast and two of its former interns. “We are, and have always been, extremely proud of the internship experiences that were offered at Condé Nast,” the company's chief executive officer, Charles Townsend, said Friday. “Our internships were considered some of the best in the industry, providing students with unparalleled learning opportunities outside of the classroom. The training and contacts our interns received at Condé Nast helped many begin successful careers here and elsewhere.” Five months after the lawsuit was filed, the company terminated its unpaid internship program.
