Throwing out a ceremonial first pitch has always been a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, you get to stand on a Major League mound and play catch with a professional baseball player in front of 50,000 people. On the other, you risk ballooning one into the backstop in front of 50,000 people. We all remember the sad fate that befell 50 Cent on social and eventually mainstream media after his effort, one that a soccer commentator might describe as "high, wide, and not so handsome."
So it’s understandable that one might need some courage to make the attempt. It appears that supermodel Chrissy Teigen opted for the liquid variety Tuesday night, making margaritas with her parents before the game. When the hour of reckoning approached, she thought she might have overdone it:

She actually came out well above average, according to this Nate Silver-esque chart, ahead of such luminaries as Michael Jordan, Hall of Fame pitcher Nolan Ryan, and of course the much-maligned Mr. Cent. And she looked gorgeous doing it.
