Robin William’s tragic death yesterday has served as a reminder of the diverse array of talents a performer can possess. His was a career that culminated in some fantastic, haunting performances in more serious roles, such as brilliant therapist Sean Maguire in “Good Will Hunting” and transcendent English teacher John Keating in “The Dead Poets Society.” But he began his career in entertainment as a comedian and made as much of his name in stand-up as in his many memorable on-screen appearances.
