For the last few weeks, social media has been saturated—maybe oversaturated—with videos of people dumping buckets of ice water on themselves to raise awareness for amytrophic lateral sclerosis. Everyone from Mark Zuckerberg to Lady Gaga to your mom has recorded themselves doing the Ice Bucket Challenge, and for the most part, they’ve all turned out the same.
Charlie Sheen takes things to the next level in his own Ice Bucket challenge video. Instead of ice water, Sheen pours a bucket full of cash on himself, all of which he plans to donate to the ALS Association. ‘Ice is going to melt,’ Sheen says, ‘but this money is going to actually help people.’ Of course, in traditional Sheen-style, he calls out his former Two and a Half Men boss Chuck Lorre, co-star Jon Cryer, and replacement Ashton Kutcher to match his donation.
It's unclear if Charlie Sheen making a valid point about the futility of dumping ice on oneself is a sign of an impending Apocalypse, but his generosity is impressive nonetheless.
