As Dallas grapples with its third confirmed case of Ebola, Texas citizens are turning to friends, family, and—predictably—social media, to cope.

While some have taken to publicly discussing the outbreak via Facebook and Twitter, others are choosing to confide in Whisper, a popular secret-sharing app that allows users to post their thoughts anonymously. This week the app has seen an influx of posts from Dallas, where a 39-year-old Liberian patient’s death from Ebola has led to two more confirmed cases.

As Slade Sohmer, Whisper’s head of news service, explained to The Daily Beast, the app uses “multiple back-end tools” to “double and triple check the whereabouts and credibility of each user.” From a conspiracy theorist who doubts the Ebola epidemic to a person convinced that they’re next, testimonials provide an inside look at the tension and anxiety pulsing through the Lonestar State.

That's it I'm going back to Mexico! I hope they finish building that wall between Texas and Mexico soon to keep people from spreading it! Texas can keep their Ebola!
I live in the Dallas area and I'm extremely close to where they kept the Ebola patient ... I wash my hands a lot now and keep away from people
Regardless of what they keep saying on the news, I'm afraid of where I live. That first ebola patient stayed 3 miles from my house. Is that silly?
I hope I don't get ebola. Not because I'm afraid of death, but because there is way too much that I would need to confess.
Fuck worrying about cops, worry about this ebola shit... I'm flipping out.
I'm starting to prepare for the Ebola outbreak and I'm terrified
