5. Brad Pitt and Jimmy Fallon’s ‘Breakdance Conversation’

Whether he’s playing beer pong with nonagenarian Betty White or lip-sync battling Emma Stone, Jimmy Fallon knows how to have fun with his Tonight Show guests. Rather than conduct a standard couch interview with Brad Pitt about his new film Fury, Fallon staged a breakdance conversation with the mega-star instead. Host and guest pop and lock on cardboard—the only proper surface for breakdancing—and in no way did they have dancing doubles.

Okay, maybe they had dancing doubles.

4. Shepard Smith: Keep Calm and Don’t Freak About Ebola

On Wednesday, anchor Shepard Smith gave Fox News viewers a dose of rationality. Flying in the face of most news media, including other anchors on his own network, Smith took three minutes to explain to viewers the facts about the current Ebola situation in the United States.

“Given what we know, you should have no concerns about Ebola at all,” Smith told viewers of Shepard Smith Reporting. “None. I promise.” In a very calm but firm tone, Smith laid out the facts about the nature of the virus, about how the two infected health care workers contracted it, and how public fear of an outbreak is being used by the media and in politics.

Staying true to the Fox News’ slogan, Smith’s assessment of the Ebola panic was quite fair and balanced.

3. ‘Let’s Get Physics, Y’all’

To promote her satirical new book, Science… For Her!, comedian and Parks & Recreation writer Megan Amram enlisted her colleague Nick Offerman for “Let’s Get Physics, Y’all,” a science-themed parody of Olivia Newton John’s exercise-as-sex-metaphor music video, “Let’s Get Physical.”

2. A Real-Time Flight from Hell Simulator

Welcome aboard BLAH Airlines’ flight from Newark to San Francisco, where the passengers are quite literally dummies and you get to experience a miserable flying experience in real time, from takeoff to landing—just a little over five hours and forty-five minutes!

Created by Virgin America to show stark contrast to their advertised flight experience, this bizarre ad might have a second life as an avant-garde art film classic.

1. Chainsaw Massacre Prank

It’s almost Halloween, so what better time to turn a parking lot into a real-life horror movie? Unsuspecting people looking for their cars find instead a limbless man covered in blood and gore, crawling away from a masked, chainsaw-wielding maniac. Sadly, no one helps him, opting instead to scream and run—but can you blame them?

The “victim,” actor Nick Santonastasso, is no stranger to pulling pranks. Born with no legs and only one arm, he was made up like a zombie to scare The Walking Dead actor Norman Reedus in a clip that already went viral back in January.

The Chainsaw Massacre Prank contains some graphic violent content, but much to the relief of the poor souls in this video, none of it is real.
