A live segment on C-SPAN's Washington Journal turned into a time-out for Brad and Dallas Woodhouse, brothers who fall on the opposite ends of the political spectrum, when their mother called in to air some family grievances.
“Oh God, it’s Mom,” groaned Dallas, president of the conservative non-profit Carolina Rising, as host Steve Scully took a call from “Joy from Raleigh, NC.” Brad, president of the progressive Americans United for Change, wordlessly put his head in his hands as Mrs. Woodhouse dressed her sons down for bickering during family gatherings.
“I was very glad that this Thanksgiving was a year that you two were supposed to go to your in-laws,” she said, “and I’m hoping you’ll have some of this out of your system when you come here for Christmas.”
Mrs. Woodhouse, a registered Democrat, went on to declare herself “more of a one-issue person right now in my life,” that issue being healthcare, in particular for her autistic grandson.
