A camera operator for Colombian TV news channel Noticias Caracol caught the year’s best pyrotechnics display to date when a fireworks factory exploded.
The cameraman was reporting on the factory catching fire when the inevitable happened. The initial explosion appeared to have knocked him down but he managed to find safety while keeping the camera pointed toward the blaze, which sent colorful fireworks into the sky and made the scene look like a Hollywood war movie.
At least two people were injured in the explosion but no fatalities have been reported.
