Donald Trump desperately wants Americans to believe he is capable of acting “presidential,” but as The Daily Show demonstrated Thursday night, his natural demeanor more resembles a hip-hop star.

“Trump doesn’t belong in the White House. Donald Trump belongs in a rap video,” correspondent Roy Wood Jr. told host Trevor Noah. “Everything Trump says is straight out of a rapper’s play book. He brags about his money, he’s disrespectful to women, and there’s always fights at his concerts.

“You could make an entire rap song with just Donald Trump quotes,” Wood proposed. “All you need is a dope beat.”

To prove his point, Wood reprised his role as “Black Trump” in an elaborate music video called “They Love Me,” featuring only words that have been uttered by the candidate, complete with dates for reference.

In this context, lines like “Careful Lyin’ Ted I’ll spill the beans on your woman” and “I have black guys counting my money” suddenly made so much more sense.
