After two long weeks, a fair share of upsets, surprises, and historic moments, the 2016 Rio Olympics will officially come to a close Sunday night at 7 p.m. ET.
If you aren’t ready to say goodbye just yet, don’t worry—NBC’s coverage will run from 7 to 9:30 p.m. ET, giving you plenty of time for closure.
The show will be directed by Rosa Magalhaes, a Brazilian professor of scenography and one of the creative directors of the Opening Ceremony. Considering her reputation as one of the “greatest carnival designers in the nation’s history,” the Closing Ceremony is sure to be a hit.
While Gisele Bündchen isn’t slated to star in the closing ceremony, there will be a performance by Norwegian electronic musician Kygo (Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll), who spent a large part of his childhood in Brazil. In a press release, Kygo called the opportunity “a huge milestone,” saying it would be “the biggest performance of my life.”
You can expect more performances celebrating Brazil’s culture and lots of dancing and music, along with a brisk parade of athletes. At the end of the ceremony, IOC President Thomas Bach will give the closing remarks and pass the Olympic flag to the governor of Tokyo, Yuriko Koike, who will oversee the 2020 Games.
And at the end of it all, the Olympic flame will be extinguished.
