There’s just no way Joe Scarborough’s Donald Trump musical is going to be half as good as this.

On Monday night, The Late Late Show’s James Corden brought together composer Tim Minchin, Dear Evan Hansen’s Ben Platt and Timeless star Abigail Spencer for a performance from their version of “Donald: The Musical.”

Using “When I Grow Up” from Minchin’s Matilda musical as their source material, they told the story of what President Trump, Sean Spicer, Steve Bannon, and Kellyanne Conway must have dreamed about as children.

“When I grow up, I will be president and build big walls, ban Muslims and grab Putin’s balls,” Minchin’s Trump sang at the top of the song. “Grab pussies of the lady grown-ups.”

Later, Platt’s Spicer crooned, “I will stand up and claim The New York Times is fake,” while Spencer’s Conway belted, “If facts don’t suit my narrative, I’ll just believe alternatives, because otherwise my brain will blow up.”

Though sung with a smile, it was some of the most damning commentary on the Trump administration to come from any late-night show, let alone one not known for being a political heavy-hitter.
