Things aren’t getting any more cordial in Washington. House Speaker John Boehner lashed out today at the White House’s lack of decisiveness during debt talks, calling the president and his team like “Jell-O ... Some days it’s firmer than others. Sometimes it’s like they’ve left it out overnight.” Boehner said that “the only thing they’ve been firm on is those damn tax increases.” Meanwhile, some support is growing around GOP Senate leader Mitch McConnell’s last-resort plan to give Obama unilateral power to raise the debt ceiling on his own.
