After a California court ordered the military to end its "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy last week, the Obama administration worried the repeal was happening too fast and had a federal court temporarily reinstate the policy—though any new probes or penalties under the rule are prohibited. Obama wanted a more-orderly transition, so his administration recently filed "considerably more detailed information" about the process to end DADT, including statements that said the military would agree to certify the repeal "in a matter of weeks." "Don't ask, don't tell" will officially end 60 days after the military hands over their repeal certification.
