Britain's Conservative-led government is defending its cozy relationship with News Corp. “It's not surprising that in a democratic country there is some contact between leaders" and media chiefs,” said Foreign Secretary William Hague, and “Im not embarrassed in any way.” At the same time, he acknowledged that “there is something wrong here in the country and it must be put right.” Last week Prime Minister David Cameron stated that the relationship between media, politicians, and police had grown too close. Cameron had over 20 meetings with Murdoch employees in the past year, and James Murdoch, Rebekah Brooks, and Andy Coulson all stayed at his home.
