In a dramatic last-second scene, an Iranian woman blinded and disfigured by a man who threw acid in her face pardoned her attacker just as he was about to be blinded himself. The man was on his knees in his hospital room, weeping, when the woman said she forgave him. "It is best to pardon when you are in a position of power," said Ameneh Bahrami. The man, Majid Movahedi, was sentenced to blinding by acid in one eye after he threw acid in Bahramiâs face in 2004, when she refused his marriage proposal.
