Michele Bachmann has won the Ames Straw Poll. The Minnesota congresswoman received 4,823 votes. Ron Paul was a very close second with 4,671 votes. Tim Pawlenty and Rick Santorum took third and fourth place, respectively; Herman Cain came in fifth. Rick Perry, who just announced his candidacy Saturday and was not listed on the ballot, came in sixth with a total of 718 votes. Mitt Romney, who was on the ballot, received 567 votes.
