Hurricane season has begun. Hurricane Irene is heading for Florida and the Carolinas on Saturday. The storm, with 100-mph winds, has been upgraded to Category 2. Once it hits the Bahamas on Thursday, the National Hurricane Center believes it will reach winds of 115 mph, or a Category 3 storm. South Florida is still in danger, but computer projections suggest the storm is increasingly headed for the Carolinas.Early Monday morning, Hurricane Irene hit Puerto Rico with 75mph winds, cutting off power to more than one million, but injuring none.
