The Advocate and other gay publications are taking note of Steve Jobs’s successor, Tim Cook. Earlier this year, Out magazine named Cook No. 1 on its annual “Power 50” list. Cook has never publicly commented on his sexuality. He has been at Apple for 13 years, and was credited with revolutionizing the company’s manufacturing operations early in his career. He went on to become COO in 2005. “The board has complete confidence that Tim is the right person to be our next CEO,” said Art Levinson, an Apple board member and chairman of Genentech.
