This could be devastating to Herman Cain’s surging presidential campaign. Politico reports that two women, who worked for Cain during his time as head of the National Restaurant Association (NRA) in the 1990s, complained that the GOP candidate behaved inappropriately. Both women were uncomfortable, and eventually signed agreements with the restaurant group to receive money and leave their jobs. In the contract, the women were reportedly prohibited from talking about why they left. While a Cain official said he was “vaguely familiar” with the allegations, Cain was confronted outside CBS News in Washington today. He said that he would not comment without concrete evidence, and then glared at the reporter and asked, “Have you ever been accused of sexual harassment?” Several sources reportedly confirm the claims, and Cain, who has been married 43 years, reportedly told one campaign staffer that allegations of sexual harassment may come up during his campaign run.
