The mission of the Boeing space plane— a jet resembling a mini space shuttle and the second of its kind to fly in space—has never been explained, though there are rumors that its mission was to spy on China’s new space station, Tiangong. The jet was supposed to land in California last December, but its flight was extended for unknown reasons.
