Clinton Backtracks on Tax Comments

Earlier this week, former president Bill Clinton made some waves when it appeared he was suggesting he supported extending the Bush-era tax cuts for the wealthy. “I’m very sorry about what happened,” Clinton said on CNN. “I thought something had to be done on the ‘fiscal cliff’ before the election. Apparently nothing has to be done until the first of the year.” Republicans seized the opportunity to say that Clinton, one of President Obama’s main backers, really agreed with their tax policies.
