A 22-year-old Associated Press intern was found dead in the Mexican capitol on Saturday. The aspiring journalist, Armando Montano, from Colorado Springs, Colo., had been working at the AP’s Mexico City bureau since early June after graduating from Grinnell College. His body was found in the elevator shaft of an apartment building near the one he was staying in. Mexican authorities are investigating his death. Montano had worked on a few stories at the bureau, including one on the shooting of three federal policemen at the capitol’s airport, but he was not working on a story at the time he died.
