Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, the son of slain Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi, wants his day in the International Criminal Court, rather than closer to home. The ICC has issued warrants for him and the head of Libyan intelligence, accusing both of crimes against humanity stemming from the Gaddafi regimeâs response to last yearâs revolution. Gaddafiâs thoughts on the matter are clear: âThe only way for Libya and the Libyan people to have justice is for the ICC to try this case in a fair, impartial and independent manner,â he is quoted as saying in a court document. The case has been messy for the ICCâfive of its staffers, including Gaddafiâs lawyer, were recently held in Libya for almost a month after visiting him.
