GOP Spins Ryan’s Medicare Plan

It looks like the Republican National Congressional Committee worked fast last weekend. It only took two hours on Saturday for the RNCC to circulate the first of many memos urging members not to say “entitlement reform,” “privatization,” “every option is on the table,” according to a report in Politico on Tuesday. Instead, the RNCC encouraged the phrases “strengthen,” “secure,” “save,” “preserve,” and “protect.” Mitt Romney’s pick of Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) has put Medicare front and center in the presidential race, as Romney struggled in Florida to find differences in his Medicare policy and Ryan’s “Path to Prosperity.”
