On Thursday, the same day the effervescent anchor was set to have a bone marrow transplant for treatment of her rare MDS disorder, Roberts sent in a video message to the morning program thanking her fans and reflecting on her recovery. “This journey is as much about the mind as it is the body,” she said, expounding on the power of thoughts. “And let me just say this last, I feel the love and I thank you for it.” Roberts’s transplant comes after she had already spent 11 days in the hospital and underwent eight days of chemotherapy to prepare for the procedure.
