Poor New Jersey! As if the general destruction and chaos of Hurricane Sandy's isn't enough, 300,000 gallons of diesel fuel has reportedly spilled into the water. The oil comes from New Jersey oil facility Motiva--which is owned jointly by Shell Oil and Saudi Refining-- and spilled into Arthur Kill, a tidal waterway dividing New Jersey from Staten Island, New York. The company released a statement Wednesday saying there were no injuries and clean up was underway, though they did not clarify why the spill occurred. 200 people are reportedly involved in cleaning up the mess.
