Newtown, Conn., is slowly attempting to return to a normal state of affairs after a tragic school shooting, including plans to reopen Sandy Hook Elementary School on January 3. Although the school building will not be used, classes are set to resume in a refurbished middle school in neighboring Monroe. Other plans include the emotionally difficult process of consolidating the school's first-grade classes, which lost students in the attack. Most of the school's teachers will also return.
