You couldn’t make this up if you tried: on Saturday night at the National Rifle Association–sponsored NRA 500 race, a man shot himself in the head in the infield after getting into an argument with other campers. The incident happened late into the Sprint Cup Series, and a police spokeswoman said alcohol may have been a factor, but nobody else was in danger.
