Everybody can’t get enough of those minions. Despicable Me 2 ruled the box office for the second weekend in a row, bringing in $44.8 million domestically, while Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim failed to bring in audiences. Pacific Rim netted $38.3 million domestically in its opening weekend, which could be a huge loss given that the film cost $190 million to make. Pacific Rim fared a little better internationally, where it brought in $91.3 million, although it still came in behind Despicable Me 2, which brought in $100.3 million globally. Rounding out the domestic box office, Grown Ups 2 came in second with a $42.5 million opening weekend, followed by Pacific Rim, and then in fourth place was the Sandra Bullock-Melissa McCarthy comedy The Heat, and Johnny Depp’s The Lone Ranger followed in fifth.
